Before You Arrive

Booking & Arrangements

All visits to Longmead are arranged in advance. This helps us ensure that we are ready to welcome you and that the visit is appropriate for your needs.

If you are attending as part of a family programme, wellbeing activity, professional referral or venue hire, you will receive information about timings, what to expect and who to contact if you have questions.

What to Bring

Longmead is a rural, working community farm, so we recommend coming prepared for outdoor activity and changing weather.

  • Any personal items you may need for the day or overnight stay
  • Any medication or health‑related items you require

What to Expect at Longmead

A Calm, Shared Environment

Longmead is a place of calm, care and respect. We ask everyone to be mindful that other people may be using the site at the same time and to help us maintain a peaceful environment.

Practical Activities

Activities at Longmead may include cooking, creative work, gardening, outdoor play, walking or quiet reflection. Participation is encouraged, but we always respect individual needs, comfort levels and boundaries.

Outdoor Spaces

Much of our work takes place outdoors. Please expect uneven ground, natural surfaces and a rural setting. We encourage everyone to take care and follow guidance from staff and facilitators.

Safety & Wellbeing

Health & Safety

Longmead is a working farm and it is not possible to remove all risks. We have clear health and safety procedures and risk assessments in place, and staff will provide guidance during activities.

We ask all visitors to:

  • Follow instructions from staff and facilitators
  • Supervise children appropriately
  • Take care around buildings, outdoor areas and equipment

Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of everyone at Longmead is very important to us. All staff, facilitators and volunteers follow safeguarding procedures and are trained to support a safe environment.

If you have any concerns during your visit, please speak to a member of the team.
