HAF

Longmead Community Farm offers Health, Activity & Food holiday programmes where children enjoy safe, inclusive activities, build confidence, make friends, and access healthy food.

What is HAF?

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme supports children who are eligible for benefits‑related free school meals during school holidays, helping to ensure they:

  • Have access to healthy food
  • Can take part in enriching activities
  • Feel supported, included and safe during the holidays

Longmead’s HAF activities are delivered in line with HAF guidance and focus on wellbeing, inclusion and positive experiences.

What We Offer

Our HAF sessions combine activities, food and care in a supportive countryside environment.

  • Activities may include:
    Outdoor play and nature exploration
  • Arts and crafts
  • Gardening and practical activities
  • Music and creative expression
  • Games, group activities and quieter wellbeing time

Children are encouraged to take part at their own pace, with plenty of opportunity for both active play and calm moments.

Food & Nutrition

As part of the HAF programme, children attending Longmead will receive nutritious food, in line with HAF expectations.

Food provision may include:

  • A healthy lunch
  • Snacks and refreshments
  • Opportunities to learn about food through practical activities

Dietary requirements and allergies can be catered for where information is provided in advance.

A Safe Environment

Children’s safety and wellbeing are central to everything we do at Longmead.

  • Activities are delivered by trained staff and facilitators
  • Safeguarding procedures are in place and followed at all times
  • Risk assessments are completed for activities and spaces
  • Children are supported with clear routines and boundaries

SEND‑Inclusive & Supportive

Longmead is committed to inclusive practice.

Our HAF activities are SEND‑aware, and our staff and facilitators are experienced in supporting children with:

  • Additional learning needs
  • Emotional or behavioural needs
  • Sensory sensitivities
  • Anxiety or low confidence

We work closely with parents and carers to understand each child’s needs and to create an environment where they feel safe, welcomed and able to enjoy their time with us.

We Look Forward to Welcoming Your Child

Our HAF programme offers children the chance to have fun, feel supported and enjoy healthy food in a safe, caring environment.
